TRIBAL TRUTHS AND NEW WISDOMS AT HOWTHELIGHTGETSIN LONDON

11/01/2018 12:00am

The theme for the September HowTheLightGetsIn festival is Tribal Truths and New Wisdom. In an increasingly divided and tribal world they'll be challenging current tribal truths and exploring new alternatives that might enable us to chart a better course.

Across a weekend of over 100 events, you’ll have the chance to see Nobel-prize winning physicist Gerard 't Hooft, psychologist Steven Pinker, author of Call Me by Your Name Andre Aciman, journalist Peter Hitchens, quantum physicist Chiara Marletto and many others.

Their recently added debates include Democracy in Crisis, where speakers will debate the fate of democracy in a world where it is easier than ever to manipulate and mislead the public. In Stranger Than We Think, they'll look at whether there is something in the supernatural that shouldn’t be so casually dismissed.  Reality and I looks the role quantum physics has on the idea of an objective reality whilst Innocence and Punishment takes a closer look at the MeToo movement. More music and comedy acts TBA.
