Background
The Institute of Art and Ideas is a new arts venture based in central London. It has associated with it a venue in the famous book and literary festival town of Hay-on-Wye. We recently put on our first major event, the 'Hay Art Festival', and are currently to repeat its success with 'How the Light Gets In', a philosophy festival, and the Hay Documentary and Film Festival which will both take place during the summer.

About the internship
You will be working in the team responsible for creating, programming, and organising the events. You will be involved in exploring and initiating ideas, conducting your own research, and in the logistics of events organisation. This is also an excellent opportunity to gain experience in events management, in publicity and promotion, and of course of the arts world.

About you
We are looking for candidates with an excellent education background and a wide ranging knowledge of the arts, culture and ideas. Experience of journalism, PR, or events is desirable. You will also need to be able to show the charm and force of personality to make things happen, and to demonstrate strong project management skills.
